Another One Bites The Dust! Late Night Continues to Shake Out Bad Eggs

Another One Bites The Dust! Late Night Continues to Shake Out Bad Eggs

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel just learned the hard way that there are consequences for running your mouth. ABC has reportedly pulled the plug on his show after he made vile, mocking comments about murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk. For years, Kimmel has built his brand on sneering at Middle America, parroting Hollywood’s woke scripts, and punching down at anyone who dares to think differently. This time, he crossed a line so far that even his network couldn’t protect him.

The Breaking Point

Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a conservative leader—he was a father, husband, and patriot who gave a voice to millions of Americans fed up with being silenced. When he was assassinated, the country mourned. Instead of showing even basic human decency, Kimmel decided to use his platform to mock Kirk’s death. That move didn’t just disgust conservatives—it repelled moderates and even embarrassed some on the Left who realized Kimmel had gone too far.

Networks can ignore low ratings and partisan hackery for a while, but when sponsors start heading for the exits, executives suddenly find a backbone. With advertisers bailing and outrage growing, ABC finally had no choice but to can the comedian who long ago stopped being funny.

Portnoy’s Take: Cancel Culture or Consequences?

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy weighed in with a viral tweet that cut through the noise:

“With Kimmel getting canned I’m seeing lots of people talking about the hypocrisy of cancel culture. To me Cancel culture is when people go out of their way to dig up old tweets, videos etc looking for dirt on somebody they don’t like in an effort to get them fired. Like if Kimmel got canceled for shit he did on the Man Show that would be cancel culture. But when a person says something that a ton of people find offensive, rude, dumb in real time and then that person is punished for it that’s not cancel culture. That is consequences for your actions.”

Portnoy nails it. Cancel culture is the left weaponizing old jokes, decade-old tweets, and innocent slip-ups to destroy their enemies. What happened to Kimmel isn’t that—it’s accountability. He spit on the grave of a murdered man, and the American people responded by rejecting him.

The Fall of Late-Night Comedy

Kimmel’s firing also marks the slow death of late-night TV. Once a place for laughs and lighthearted entertainment, it’s now just a stage for woke monologues, partisan talking points, and smug lectures. Viewers are tuning out in droves. Kirk’s assassination should have been a moment of national unity against political violence. Instead, Kimmel turned it into another culture-war cheap shot, and now he’s paying the price.

Far From Woke Verdict

Jimmy Kimmel isn’t a victim of cancel culture—he’s a victim of his own arrogance. Mocking a man’s assassination is beneath the dignity of any human being, let alone someone with a national platform. Dave Portnoy said it best: this isn’t cancel culture, this is consequences.

And the consequence is clear—Jimmy Kimmel is out of a job.
